Cheboygan Crib Light USCG Mackinaw

Originally built in 1884, then restored in 1910 and 1984, the current light is a 25 ft octagonal cast iron structure. The 240 foot cutter was launched April 5, 2005 at Wisconsin¿s Marinette Marine¿s shipyard. Commissioned June 10, 2006, Mackinaw (WLBB 30) assumed the "Mackinaw" name and heritage and of her predecessor, USCG Mackinaw WAGB83 and now stands as the largest United States Coast Guard Cutter on the Great Lakes.
