Eagle Harbor Light

The 1871 red brick Eagle Harbor Light Station replaced the original built in 1851. The 10 foot diameter octagonal brick light tower has 12¿ thick walls and supports a 10 sided cast iron lantern. Its 44 foot tower has a focal plane of 60 ft. Owned by the U.S. Coast Guard, it is leased to the Keweenaw County Historical who also maintain a museum at the site. The USCG continues to operate the light tower and the lighthouse remains a current aid to maritime traffic.
