Bailey Schoolhouse
SKU: 5531
Located along the walking path to Lake Huron¿s Sturgeon Point Lighthouse, Bailey School is one of the few remaining one-room schoolhouses still standing in Michigan. It served the community until the end of the 1940-1941 school year. Partially restored at its initial Mikado Township location, it was disassembled in 1998, moved to the present location and rebuilt and restored to near-original condition. The school bell still sits on the roof top and the furnishings of the period are intact ¿ recitation bench, teacher/student desks, wood stove and drinking pail & dipper.
