Two Rivers North Pierhead Light
SKU: 5467
The 36 ft. tall wooden skeletal Two Rivers North Pierhead light was built in 1886 at the point where the East and West Twin Rivers empty into Lake Michigan. Rebuilt in 1928 due to deterioration and retired in 1969, the USCG donated the structure to the Two Rivers Historical Society. Two Rivers is renowned for its commercial fishing and maritime heritage. The light was moved from its original location to the Rogers Street Fishing Village museum, a group of historical buildings maintained as a memorial to the city's proud fishing heritage. The museum is open to the pubic and offers exhibits on the commercial fishing industry as well as artifacts rescued from the depths of Lake Michigan's most famous shipwrecks.
