Old Mission Lighthouse, Traverse City Michigan

Constructed and first lit in 1870, the 36 ft. square tower light was visible 10 miles into Lake Michigan. Owned by Peninsula Township, it first opened to the public in 2008. Located in the same park as the historic Hessler Log House, it has warned boaters of the shallow shoal area of the peninsula.
