Port Austin Reef Light

The 60 ft tower of the Port Austin Reef Light was built in 1878 and the pier was modified in 1899. Abandoned in 1953 it was rescued by the Port Austin Reef Lighthouse Association who obtained a lease from the Coast Guard in 1988 to stabilize and repair the deteriorating structure. It has since seen major external repairs with interior renovation begun in 1990.
