Copper Harbor Lighthouse
SKU: 5614
Severe winters did not slow the rapid development of mining after deposits of copper, then iron, were found in Copper Harbor during the mid 1800s. Maritime shipping in and out of the harbor grew quickly. The schoolhouse style Copper Harbor Lighthouse was built in 1866 and deactivated in 1927. Well preserved, it is now a museum and is accessed by boats departing from the Copper Harbor marina.
