Duluth North Breakwater Light

One of the world's largest seaports, the Duluth harbor has three light beacons to assist vessels from Lake Superior through a 300 ft wide canal to the Port of Duluth. The Duluth North Breakwater Light was first illuminated on April 7th, 1910. This 37 ft tower marks the entrance to the canal. Located in close proximity to the two other Duluth harbor lights and the Army Corps of Engineers Canal Park maritime Museum, the harbor walk area offers tourists and locals a fascinating afternoon by the shores of Lake Superior.
