Kenosha Southport Lighthouse
SKU: 5426
The 55' tall Kenosha Southport Lighthouse was built of cream city brick in 1866. It replaced the first government lighthouse that was erected in 1848. The detached keepers dwelling was completed a year later in 1867. The light served as a navigational aid until it was decommissioned in 1906. Although it no longer serves in an official capacity, it was relit in 1994 and is undergoing restoration by the Kenosha County Historical Society.
