Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Tower
SKU: 5263
Built diagonally into the northwest corner of the dwelling, the 9' 4" square tower of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is built of Milwaukee cream city brick. The lighthouse dwelling is similar to the nearby Chambers Island lighthouse with the exception of the top tower. It was deliberately built differently so mariners could distinguish between the two. Inside the tower walls, a cast iron spiral staircase allowed access to the lower fuel storage room, the two dwelling floors and the lantern room. At 7' in diameter, the original ten sided lantern held a 3rd Order Fresnel lens built in Paris France. The lens was updated in 1918 to the current 5th Order Fresnel Lens. Shown matted in Tan over White.
