Greeting by Sea. The Port Washington Wisconsin 1935 Art Deco Lighthouse welcomes boaters to the picturesque harbor town and marina. Built at the end of a 2,500 foot steel decking and concrete/stone breakwater, it reaches out approximately 1/4 mile into Lake Michigan. The beacon flashes once every 6 seconds and, at 78 feet above the water's surface, it signals boaters 8 miles out from the harbor. Easily accessible, it is a favorite lacation for salmon and trout fishermen as well as offering visitors extraordinary views of the city's charm. St. Mary's church is in the background.
